Incredible Map of Walt Disney World Resort Transportation as a Subway Map
Aurthur de Wolf, a freelance graphics designer and web developer and huge Disney fan, has created an amazing map of Walt Disney World in the form of a subway map.
“There are a lot of ways to travel between the 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, Downtown Disney and 20+ Disney resorts at Walt Disney World in Florida, but as far as I know there is no transportation map that shows all the different bus and monorail routes. As a passholder who loves to visit this happy place, I thought it would be fun to try and make a subway-style transit map of all Disney transportation at Walt Disney World.” – Aurthur de Wolf
From Aurthur’s site:
- This map may not be complete and may contain errors.
- With 22 resorts spread over the map, each with buses going to the theme parks, water parks and Downtown Disney, [he] quickly realized that it would become very cluttered to have individual lines for all these bus routes. [he] decided to have just one main line go from each park, with its owl color, to all the resorts.
- Some large resorts, like Port Orleans and Saratoga Springs, have an internal bus route with multiple stops. In most cases these stops provide direct service to the parks, but to keep the map simple [he] decided not to have each of the colored lines go to each of the stops.
- Some buses may stop at one resort first before going to another resort.
- [He] love to walk, so [he] had to include some major walking routes between resorts and parks. Obviously you can walk in many other places, but [he’s] only showing those that connect the ‘terminals’ where you can pick up other Disney transportation.
