Starbucks Opens Disney World Location with Moss Art and Touchscreens

Starbucks_Disney_Orlando_1 Starbucks has announced the opening of its first company-owned Disney World location and they did not hold back when it came to cramming buzzy design trends into it. The 4,000 square foot “green” space is LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and to make it extra-clear that Starbucks likes the environment (except when it comes to single-use coffee products), they’ve put lemon grass on the roof and a moss art logo on a “living wall.”

Starbucks is also getting in on the touchscreen action, installing a “70-inch digital display panel” that connects Orlando coffee drinkers with customers at the Disneyland Starbucks. The panels use “built-in cameras to create chalk sketches of guests” which somehow is meant to give guests the experience of “shar[ing] a cup of coffee from coast-to-coast.” Go, have a look around:
