Disney To Adapt Iconic ‘Fantasia’ Sequence Into Live-Action Movie (Exclusive)
Disney is conjuring up a live-action movie based on the “Night on Bald Mountain” sequence from the studio’s animated classic Fantasia. Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless will write the script for the project — which is in early development at the studio — based on the 1940’s animated film. The hot writing duo is also executive producing the film. The “Night on Bald Mountain” section of Fantasia centered on a dark winged creature who raised spirits from the dead. They dance, fly through the air and enjoy an night of mayhem until they fade away as the night ends and the sun begins to rise. Read More Here

Disney’s Live-Action Beauty And The Beast Will Make A Major Change To The Animated Film
Among Disney’s slate of live-action remakes of their classic animated movies is Beauty and the Beast. Unlike Maleficent and Cinderella before it, the film will follow in the footsteps of its animated counterpart by being a musical. However, as with any adaptation, there are bound to be changes from the “original” story, and in this case, moviegoers should expect to hear some extra songs added to the lineup of music. During his “Artist to Artist” production at Lincoln Center earlier this week, witnessed by Stitch Kingdom, Disney composer Alan Menken, who also scored the 1991 movie, revealed that he and his writing partner Tim Rice have created three new songs…
